AGENT 005

Coming up I didn’t want my name.
Now I can’t see myself giving it up.
To become an alias of a man
who doesn’t exist.
I’ve taken down terror cells
Helped overthrow dictatorships.
I’ve nearly died for this life.
And still; I’m passed every time.
We both started with two kills
and put our souls on the line.
But what he, the queen
and parliament have in common
Is they share the same color and not mine.
That mantle is a curse;
a war you fight with every breath.
No wonder he stays drunk;
it’s to forget every death.
I don’t blame him. I don’t pity him.
Let us switch faces and have him
suffer my sunken places.
Not for God, Country or Queens.
Not for gadgets, cars or suits.
It’s to outlast a never ending struggle.
And prove you can never break a Bond
when your only loyalty is yourself.
